Now, with all the added fees and 'experience' oriented stays, hotels are much cheaper. Plus, it's bad for the local housing market. It's still quite affordable in certain countries in Latin America, but I can never see myself using it in the US or Europe again.

Checked out a local store I thrifted at a lot my first year of University (and first year living alone). That store saved me so much money and grief in 2013, but there's no way I could have afforded the current prices

Font - of 201 GrayBox1313. 3 days ago Male Not to mention eBay...everybody knows about collectibles now. Assume old comics, cards, toys, band shirts etc have value. Look it up and see. Some chains like goodwill even hold all that back and sell online only. The days of finding a vintage guitar, or comic are over

Font - The-Real-Nunya. 3 days ago Antiques Roadshow followed by all the pickers and pawn shop shows is to blame, everybody thinks they have something valuable because some flogger on the telly makes up b numbers and then buyers see value in crap so spend the money.

Font - Old Man_Robot 2 days ago . I remember, a couple of years ago, finding what I thought would have been a first edition print of the King in Yellow at a thrift store. It was in a bucket of books all labelled 50p each. When I brought it to the checkout, the guy at the desk googled it in front of me, then declined to sell it to me, as he could get a few hundred on eBay for it. I stopped going any thrift store after that.

Font - Wild Samich 3 days ago Home flippers. They pay cash for every mediocre or slightly out of date house on the market. Many times their work is hot garbage and they try to hide any defect the house has but try their best not to fix it. Then they up the price so first time home buyers can't afford them. (S)

Font - galacticdude7. 3 days ago Male I recently was going through the house hunting process and you can always tell when a house is a flipped house, the kitchens and the bathrooms will all look nice in photos, but when you look closer you can tell it just was not done well, and there are always some structural issues in the basement that the flippers either tried to brush over or just outright ignored.

Font - 25 RallyX26 3 days ago Male I used to do theater work. Sl that had to be done as cheap as possible, as fast as possible, and look good from 40 feet away for no more than a month. When I started looking at houses, it was amazing how much of the work done by flippers was even worse than that. To the point where if I walked into a house and smelled fresh drywall mud, new grout and sawdust, I'd walk right back out.

I bought a used travel trailer to live in while we got settled into my job and looked for a house. That was TWO years ago. I just want a home but every time I attend a showing or make an offer I'm outnumbered by "investors" who are basically the real-estate version of the seagulls from "Finding Nemo." 4.4k Reply Share ddh85 3 days ago Male Mine! There's a life hack for everything these days.

Font - Mysterious-Skin69420 3 days ago The amount of people who will take an audio from tiktok, then post it elsewhere and try and pretend it was their original content is innumerable. Most notably the sound where someone will post a random video, mostly panning over some basic car, and at the end a woman in the background says hurts from last "my a night". Or also all the foreign " life hack" videos.

Font - The HarryMan123 3 days ago I think the worst part is that nobody can do anything without somebody videotaping it somehow somewhere. Everywhere has a camera, everyone could identify you afterwards. Nothing is secret or private. There's gonna be another against the grain youth rebellion like the 80's/90's because you're not allowed to do anything at all anymore without being under a watchful eye
